Episode #53: Small changes for deep impact - Guest Christiana Kraus

On this episode, Phil interviews Christiana Kraus about the importance of intentionally building relationships as a new administrator. Christiana views her role as an educator as an opportunity to serve others well, with heart and with intentionality.  She believes as leaders; we must foster and build clear communication, processes, and practices that focus on relationships, which is the building blocks to a strong foundation of positive culture and climate in a school community.

A little about Christiana:  

Ms. Christiana Kraus was born and raised in Southern California. She began her career as a high school Social Studies teacher going into site administration. She held a wide range of teacher leadership roles that supported At-Promise students, Curriculum development as well as co-curricular, and athletics. She served as a High School Assistant Principal, Principal, and then went and worked as an education consultant for several years. In 2019, Christiana went back into public education as the principal of Paramount High School-Senior campus (10-12 grade), a huge high school that is part of  Paramount Unified, a suburb located outside of Los Angeles, California. She relishes her quiet time with her husband of 20 years Jose and her boys Conner 19 and Colin 16 and any opportunity to get into the kitchen and cook for family and friends.
