Episode #76: Welcoming Students Back - Guest Ted Goergen

In this episode of the School Culture By Design CULTURE LEVER series, Phil Boyte welcomes back guest Ted Goergen, Director of Student Activities at Adlai E. Stevenson HS in Lincolnshire, Illinois. 

Ted views this fall as an opportunity to recalibrate and reimagine school culture and shares ideas on “Welcoming Students Back.”

A little about Ted

Ted Goergen, EdD, is the Director of Student Activities at the award-winning Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. In his role, he provides support and leadership for Stevenson’s co-curricular programs, including the professional development of over 150 club advisors.  In addition to his role with the co-curricular program, Ted helps lead professional learning in the district on the topic of equity, access, and inclusivity. In addition to his science teaching and leadership roles, he has advised many clubs and activities on campus.

Ted is a member of many professional organizations, presenting extensively at state and national conferences. As a result of his commitment to student learning and service, Ted has been honored by the Illinois State Board of Education and Clarke University. In addition to his leadership roles, Ted serves on the Salem School District Board of Education.

Ted earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in educational technology from Clarke University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Roosevelt University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the American College of Education.
